ITR Filling due dates has been extended further from 31st December to 10th January 2021 for the financial year 2019-20

Due date of the payment of income tax  has been extended further from 31st December to  as bellow 

a. Whose liability of Income Tax is upto INR 1,00,000; and
b. Who is required to get accounts audited; or
c. Who is liable to furnish return in respect of international/specified domestic transactions AY 2020-21 by 31st January, 2021 to 15th February, 2021 for 15 Days
Payment of Income Tax- Taxpayers:
a. whose liability of Income Tax is upto INR 1,00,000; and
b. Who is any other taxpayers (other than mentioned above) AY 2020-21 by 31st December 2020 to  10th January, 2021  for 10 Days

Clarification in respect of the direct tax vivad se vishwas act,2020

With the objective to reduce pending income tax litigation and generate the timly revenue for the government of India and also the benefit taxpayers by providing them peace of mind,certainty and saving the times and avoid the long drawn vexatioous litigation process,the direct tax Vivad se VishwasAct 2020 had been amended by the taxation and other laws to provide certain relaxation in view of Covid-19 pandemic and also empowerthe Central government to notifycertain dates.

The central government has extended the date for payment without additional under vivad se vishwas from31st December to 31st March 2021.The said notification also notified the last date for filing the declaration by 31st December 2020 .

Under the existing provisions of section 5(2) ,the declarant is required to pay the amount within a period of 15 days from the receipt of certificate from the designated authority. As per the aforesaid notification,a declarant who file declaration on before 31st December 2020.Hence requiring payment by the declarant within a 15 days from the date of receipt of certificate from the designated authority may result into undue hardship for the declarant in whose case the period of 15 days expires before 31st March 2021.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for the Assessment year 2020-21

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for the filing of income tax returns (ITR) for the financial year ending March 2020 and the  Assessment year 2020-21) to December 31, 2020.

“The due date for furnishing of Income Tax Returns for the other taxpayers (for whom the due date (i.e.before the extension by the said notification) as per the Act was 31st July, 2020) has been extended to 31st December, 2020),” CBDT said in a statement.

The CBDT said it extended the deadline keeping in mind the difficulties faced by taxpayers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The government had previously extended to deadline to November 30 from July 31.
“Consequently, the date for furnishing of various audit reports under the Act including tax audit report and report in respect of international/specified domestic transaction has also been extended to 31st December, 2020,” CBDT added.

Income tax Return filing deadline for the financial yera ending 31st March 2020 has been extended to 30th November 2020

As announced by the government for all income-tax return (ITR) for FY 2019-20 has been extended from July 31, 2020, and October 31, 2020, to November 30, 2020, and tax audit from September 30, 2020 to October 31 2020.

The government via a press conference dated May 13, 2020 announced that the income tax return (ITR) filing deadline for the financial year 2019-20 has been extended to November 30, 2020 from the usual deadline of July 31, 2020. “Due date for all income-tax return for FY 2019-20 will be extended from July 31 2020 and October 31, 2020 to November 30, 2020 and tax audit from September 30, 2020 to October 31, 2020,

In addition to that, the government via a notification dated June 24, 2020 (effective from June 30, 2020) had extended the date to issue Form 16A (TDS certificates for interest income) and Form 16 (TDS certificate for salary) to employees by employers to August 15, 2020. According to chartered accountants, the government had earlier extended the deadline of issuing Form-16 and Form 16A from June 15, 2020 to June 30, 2020 via an ordinance dated March 31, 2020.

The previous extension of issuing Form 16 (i.e., June 30, 2020) had left only one month for individual taxpayers to file their income tax return before the deadline, i.e., July 31, 2020. Chartered accountants and other tax experts were anticipating an extension in the ITR filing deadline for FY 2019-20.
